A new book and a new hero

Yep, I have a new book out -- yay! This one was tough to write because I am a woman who wrote about a man who pretended to be a woman.

It was fun to write, that's for sure! And complicated, with a plot that spans decades.

So here it is, my latest effort, about a man who tries to right an old wrong, and almost gets murdered while trying.

I rewrote this book about 4 times since the first draft in 2004. It gradually evolved as I evolved as a writer. I'm curious to see how it's received because it isn't a romance, really. It's a mystery and one of the mysteries is: will the romance between Genny and Dan bloom?

We'll see....

Next on the agenda for this year ...

Gilt will be coming soon (say, in 2 weeks or so). This is my firefighter-ghost story. I'll be curious to see what people think of it.

Stay tuned. I had good success with Twistered. Let's see how Gilt does. After that it's a re-release of an old book, then it'll be 2013 with 3 mystery books ready to go. After that ... who knows?

Finally here!

My suspense book, Mist, is finally ready. It's on Kindle now and soon will be available for Nook, print, and others. It's out there in print now, too.

I got the idea for this book a year ago, when I saw a "Missing" poster on a bulletin board in a small cafe in northern Minnesota. The poster had been there for years -- I remember seeing it there in years past. I started wondering: what would happen if that person returned? What happens to those who come back? What happens to those who have a "Happy Ending" and are returned?

The name, of course, came about because people who are taken are missed. I wanted something totally different from my other multi-word title books because these next books mark a change in my writing. There's still just a touch of romance, but not nearly as much as I've had in the past. Now the focus is on the mystery and the characters, not on the Happily Ever After.

So here's to Mist! And to those who are missed, daily...
